The First Spark: From Rhythm Roots to the DJ Deck
Born in 1974, Dimitri felt a pull towards harmony and rhythm from an early age. Even as a schoolboy in the folk ensemble “Loshkari,” he didn’t just play wooden spoons to the accordion—he felt the beat, helping others find the groove.
But the real magnet was the local club—the center of life with cinema screenings and, most importantly, a massive dance hall where weekends meant one thing: Disco. For young Dima, Saturday and Sunday nights were sacred. He watched the stage with envy, eyes fixed on the man behind the equipment changing cassettes and controlling the mood of the entire crowd. The dream seemed distant until one afternoon, a chance encounter with Viktor, the club manager, changed everything. Dimitri was offered a chance to join the club’s creative life. He didn’t hesitate for a second.
The Golden Era of the Club Scene
Thus began a double life: high school student by day, DJ by night. The school disapproved—late-night parties were not for students. Parents were summoned, and stern talks were held. But as Dima himself says, “Music was already in my blood.” The passion was stronger than the rules.
He immersed himself in the craft: ordering new tapes, traveling to city recording studios for the freshest hits. His discos became legendary. “The dust stood in the air from the dancing,” he recalls. People traveled from neighboring towns just to be there. Even Viktor, who usually preferred slow dances, couldn’t resist the beats of Modern Talking, C.C. Catch, and Blue System—music that settled forever in the heart of DJ DimVol.
Music Forever: A New Era
Life moved on—army service, family, career. But the music never left. It lived in his soul, waiting for its moment. And that moment arrived.
Dimitri began mastering music production on his own, learning Adobe Audition, FL Studio, and Audacity, turning years of experience and love for rhythm into his own tracks. Today, in the era of Artificial Intelligence, DJ DimVol keeps pace with the times. Through the Alice & AI project, he explores new sonic and visual ideas. He finds parallels between the freedom of the dance floor and the freedom of the digital crypto-world.
But his heart still beats to the rhythm of the 80s and 90s. Because real music is forever.
